WORLD SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP&ALPE ADRIA CHAMPIONSHIP 15.-17.06.2012.
Motorcycle club "Kvarner" and Automotodrom "Grobnik" for the eighth time organize Sidecar World Championship and 58th Alpe Adria Championship under the name "Kvarner region FIM Sidecar World Championship 2012".
Three-day event will be held at the Grobnik track from 15th till 17th of June 2012 and will certainly attract a large number of motor sport enthusiasts from Croatia but also from around the world, which will have the opportunity to see the world's best racing motorcyclists.
This is the third race of the seven in total that will be held in season 2012. The first race was held in France 14.05.2012 at Magny-Cours. Race results can be viewed at: www.fim-live.com
Other race tracks that will host this great event are: Hungaroring 10.06.; Riijeka 17.06.; Sachsering 08.07.; Schleiz 22.07.; Oschersleben 11.08. and Le Mans 08.09
15 teams from 10 countries from all around the world will participate in these races. After the first race in France team Paivarinta Pekka / Adolf Hanni (Fin) took the leading position. Last year on Grobnik they had fantastc two races (sprint and Gold Race). Right behind them are brothers Ben Birchall / Tom Birchall (GBR), who announced an exciting season, and are quite uncertain winners and world champions in this season. It is interesting to note that our neighbors, Slovenian rider Remse / Jamie Biggs will also come who are on 12 position after the first race. More information about the results : www.superside.com
58th Alpe Adria championship races will be scored for qualification for the European Championship, as well as the Croatian Championship race in the class 125, Superstock 600 and Superstock 1000. We expect good results from Croatian drivers, especially our Marko Erceg from Rijeka.
An interesting is also ICGP (International Classic Grand Prix) race in the Old Timer classes 250cc and 350cc. According to this year's calendar, they are driving in total six races, the second one is on Grobnik. more about it at: www.icgpracing.com .
The event begins on Friday -free practices, on Saturday will be held the first qualifying Sidecar Sprint Race (10 laps) scoring for the final Gold race (18 laps) on Sunday.
